What is included
Analysis of the causes of condensation, fogging, moisture on window reveals, mold, problems with ventilation and thermal conditions, and installation errors.
The inspection takes account of the order documents: the contract, specifications, measurement sheet, information about profiles, insulating glazing units, hardware and installation work, records and correspondence.
What is checked
- profiles, frame, sashes, geometry and sash compression;
- the insulating glazing unit, cracks, seal integrity and fogging;
- seals, handles, hinges, locking components and hardware;
- the installation joint, fixings, sealing and junctions;
- window reveals, window sill, external sill flashing and drainage;
- causes of drafts, freezing, condensation and leaks;
- compliance with the contract, specifications and agreed characteristics.
Pricing
from 30 000 ₽. The final price depends on the number of windows, the nature of the defects, the need for a site visit, the volume of documents and the form of the final report.
Where moisture appears and under what conditions
For the examination, it is important to specify the location of the moisture: on the room-facing glass surface, around the frame, on the window reveal, under the window sill or between the panes. These observations must not be grouped under the general term “fogging” without specifying the location. Overall views of the window are supplemented with close-ups and information about when the signs appear.
The surface temperature is compared with indoor and outdoor conditions. Useful information includes air temperature, humidity, heating and ventilation operation, sash position and available sources of moisture. A single photograph does not describe all periods of use, and a visible stain on the window reveal does not automatically establish a window defect or a failure by the user to follow operating instructions.
Information for comparing episodes
- When moisture appears and whether it disappears at other times.
- Whether it occurs on one window or several.
- Whether heating, airing, finishes or furniture placement have changed.
- What measurements were taken, where the sensors were located and whether the original records have been retained.
Thermal images, if provided, are assessed together with the conditions in which they were taken and other data. A colored area in an image shows a temperature pattern, rather than an established cause of a defect. The examination must explain which technical hypotheses have been tested and what supports them.
Describing signs of biological damage and identifying their type are different tasks. An assessment of the condition of a window assembly should not lead to sanitary or medical conclusions about the premises or people's health without additional grounds.
